Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a real difference in the lives of students as a contract Registered Nurse supporting schools in the Kansas City area. This rewarding, full-time opportunity runs through the end of the academic year, with the potential to extend into the district’s summer program. You'll play a key role—either working 1:1 with a student or serving as a vital float nurse, meeting the diverse needs of children from PreK through 12th grade.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in Missouri with a spotless record (verified via Nursys)
• Recent experience in pediatrics—ICU, ER, or school setting strongly preferred
• Comfortable working independently as the lead healthcare provider at the site
• Flexibility to adapt to a schedule that may change weekly, or even daily
• Competent using computer-based charting systems; strong multitasking and communication skills
• Experience across a wide range of ages and grades, from PreK to high school
• Ability to manage field trips, emergencies, and varying sites with professionalism
• No new graduate RNs, please

Responsibilities:

• Provide attentive 1:1 nursing care to a student, ensuring their health and well-being during school hours
• Serve as a float nurse as needed, covering various health rooms throughout the district
• Respond promptly to health needs, emergencies, and field trips, sometimes visiting multiple locations daily
• Accurately document student care and interventions using digital record systems
• Remain flexible and responsive to shifting assignments communicated weekly (or as changes arise)
