Job Overview This full‑time opportunity is in the Microbiology Department of Clinical Pathology Laboratories (CPL) in Austin, Texas. We are seeking an entry‑level team member to work first shift (9:00AM – 5:00PM) and to be available to work weekends. Responsibilities Perform moderate to high‑complexity microbiology testing on clinical specimens such as urine, blood, sputum, wounds, and body fluids. Analyze, review, and report microbiology test results, ensuring timely communication of critical findings. Work in a fast‑paced laboratory environment handling biological and chemical hazards. Recognize and troubleshoot issues or unexpected results, implementing corrective actions effectively. Identify when corrective action is necessary and implement effective solutions. Promote safety, compliance, and quality control within the lab. Qualifications Bachelor degree or higher in a chemical, biological, or medical science. Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills. Willingness to learn new techniques and technologies, enthusiasm for continuous professional development. Proficiency in operating general laboratory equipment, including telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms. Bonus Points Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent. Hands‑on experience in microbiology.
