UF Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented LPN/Medical Assistant to join our Pediatrics team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department in Gainesville, Florida. As an integral member of a comprehensive academic health center, you will support pediatric providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced clinical setting. In this role, you will perform a wide range of clinical and administrative duties, including rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints, preparing patients and exam rooms for visits and procedures, and assisting providers during examinations and minor in-office procedures. You will support pediatric immunization schedules by preparing and administering vaccines per provider orders and UF Health protocols, provide age-appropriate patient and family education, and help ensure that children and caregivers understand care plans, medications, and follow-up instructions. The LPN/Medical Assistant will accurately document all care in the electronic health record, manage prescription refill requests, coordinate referrals, and assist with scheduling, phone triage, and follow-up communications. You will collect specimens for basic laboratory tests, perform point-of-care testing as authorized, maintain strict infection control and safety standards, and ensure that equipment, supplies, and exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use. Working closely with pediatricians, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will contribute to a collaborative and inclusive environment that prioritizes empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the unique needs of pediatric patients and their families.
