Deliverable's to be Done:
- Review of policies, procedures and standards and identify gaps.
- Re-write and/or create the policies and procedures and make recommendations on discovered gaps for the reviewed standards.
- Develop a HIPAA policy and security strategy using best practices and following a framework such as NIST that is aligned to HIPAA which will be sustainable and consumable so that client can manage their policies for future.
- Create Strategy Playbook. - i.e. business value of compliance, especially HIPAA and to see that it's more than checking boxes to satisfy the regulators.

US CITIZEN ONLY - Overview: The HIPAA Security Consultant will be responsible for evaluating & addressing the current state of the clients HIPAA policies, procedures and standards and to re-write their HIPAA policies and procedures to meet HIPAA requirements and best practices. You will work with client to develop a consistent security and HIPAA strategy and policy framework based on best practiced and compliance requirements which will support their risk reduction objectives of advancing their policies, procedures and standards operational processes so that they are consumable and manageable as various types of change occurs within their environment.
The client needs someone with experience in advising (consulting roles) with their customers. Requirements: - Must have 5-8 yrs HIPAA policy and procedure and security strategy SME evaluating customers' strategic business issues, identify requirements, create business case justifications, and propose appropriate enterprise solutions such as :
- Review of policies, procedures and standards and identify gaps.
- Re-write and/or create the policies and procedures and make recommendations on discovered gaps for the reviewed standards.
- Develop a HIPAA policy and security strategy using best practices and following a framework such as NIST that is aligned to HIPAA which will be sustainable and consumable so that client can manage their policies for future.
- Create Strategy Playbook. - i.e. business value of compliance, especially HIPAA and to see that it's more than checking boxes to satisfy the regulators.
- Technical skills will include a combination of the following:
- HIPAA Privacy Rule- (1) notice of privacy practices for PHI, (2) rights to request privacy protection for PHI, (3) access of individuals to PHI, (4) administrative requirements, (5) uses and disclosures of PHI, (6) amendment of PHI, and (7) accounting of disclosures.
- HIPAA Security Rule- administrative, physical, and technical safeguards
- Breach Notification Rule along with Disaster Recovery and Practice
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all customer levels, including executive leadership, using verbal and written media.
- Work well under pressure whilst consolidating, communicating and gaining agreement on multiple internal and customer stakeholder requirements
- Work in and adapt to a dynamic and fluid environment where strategy shifts may be required to achieve successful outcome of organizational or program objectives.
