The full performance level class works under general supervision & requires considerable knowledge of grounds keeping in order to perform skilled & semi-skilled grounds maintenance duties. Working Hours: 40 hours per week; rotating schedule‑may include weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Posted until filled. (These duties are illustrative only. Performs grounds maintenance duties on all Greene County parks, Greene County Park District parks, all County Commissioners facilities and all County bikeways including but not limited to lawn/turf care (mowing, trimming, fertilizing, weed control, etc.), landscaping, tree care/removal; athletic field care (mowing, fertilizing, weed removal, insect control, over seeding, aerating, cone setting/removal; land management (bush hog mowing, tree removal, invasive plant removal/control, herbicide/pesticide spraying, prairie planting and management, etc.; removal of snow and ice from walks, driveways, park roadways, County parking lots and spreading salt on public passage ways; operates county vehicle, light to heavy equipment (tractors, loaders, mowers, skid steers, etc.); pulls and backs trailers on roadways in the execution of duties. Performs a variety of basic routine work in trade areas such as plumbing, concrete work, carpentry, painting, electrical, asphalting, signage development, construction and installation. Adds, installs and/or repairs items on sites. Assists other divisions of the department, the County and the general public in setting up and taking down equipment for the department, park and general public programs and activities; prepares facilities for park, department, general public activities and rentals; opens, closes, locks and unlocks facilities. Operates and performs routine preventative maintenance and washes and cleans equipment used to carry out responsibilities. Greet the public and answers questions when needed. Performs others duties of a similar nature or level as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.) 12 months experience performing grounds maintenance activities & use of associated equipment (e.g., applying sprays, planting, transplanting, pruning, trimming, and snow removal) Valid Ohio Driver's License. -Or per the equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for education and/or experience required.
