Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Box Truck Driver to join our local logistics team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a 26-foot box truck, handling the loading and unloading of cargo, and ensuring on-time deliveries to various commercial and residential locations in the greater metropolitan area. Key Responsibilities

• Operate 26-Foot Truck: Safely navigate a 26-foot commercial box truck through diverse traffic and weather conditions while obeying all local and federal traffic laws. [1, 2, 3, 4]
• Loading & Unloading: Manually load and unload heavy freight using equipment like liftgates, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting and damage during transit. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
• Route Management: Review daily manifests and navigate optimal routes using GPS tools to ensure on-time delivery and pickup schedules. [1, 2, 3]
• Documentation: Verify delivery loads against shipping manifests, obtain customer signatures, and complete daily electronic or paper logs.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs immediately to management. [1, 2, 3, 4]
• Customer Service: Interact with clients and vendors in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner.

Qualifications & Requirements

• License: Valid standard Class D Driver's License with a clean driving record (No CDL required).
• Medical Certification: Valid DOT Medical Card (or willingness to obtain one before hiring).
