We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, excellent communication and computer skills, and the ability to thrive in both field and office environments. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. Field experience is a must!
Responsibilities:
• Assist in bidding, estimates, project planning, project budgets, scheduling, and coordination of activities.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely and successful project completion.
• Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Conduct on-site inspections and quality control checks to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Prepares project documents such as submittals, schedules, RFI's, as-builts, progress photos, as well as close-out documents.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, subcontractors, and homeowners to provide project updates and address any issues or concerns.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment as needed.
• Assist in resolving conflicts or disputes that may arise during the construction process.
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction experience (in field experience required).
• Experience in commercial and government construction projects is a plus, Experience with MTA projects is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments, with a team and independently.
• Flexibility to work occasional weekends and nights as required by project schedules, generally for the MTA.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is a must.
• Degree or Certification in construction management or related field (preferred but not required).
